NEW INITIATIVE: Regional and Rural Tours


Kathy Walker has opened bookings for presentations in 2009.

This year Kathy is prioritising regional and rural presentations before committing to metropolitan dates and bookings. She is also offering the following new initiative in order to provide rural and regional communities with a more cost effective option. She is suggesting that local schools, preschools and local government organisations in one area join together to provide the sessions rather than individual organisations booking Kathy separately. This approach is more cost effective and less labour intensive as organisation, travel, accommodation and consultancy fees are shared by a number of organisations. It also encourages networks between organisations.


The new initiative includes the following individual or combined sessions over a two day program:

Presentations or mentoring to schools on the Australian Developmental Curriculum
(play and project based curriculum)
Parent information sessions on a range of topics including
School readiness
Resilience
Behaviour
Play based curriculum
Professional development sessions for Preschool, Family Day Care, Child Care and other children and family services staff.

It is suggested that Kathy offer professional sessions during the day over two days and a parent session on the evening on the first day.

We suggest you contact your local schools, preschools, Local Government, DEECD representatives and organise a booking in your region.
